Have you ever wondered why some people are able to get ahead financially, but others never leave the rat race? The secret comes from the wealth principle that the rich are great receivers, whereas the poor are not good receivers. This is the fundamental reason people do not achieve their full financial potential. Because this is such a simple concept it is easily over looked, but the reality is that if you are not able to receive, you will not receive. It’s simple, basic and true.
On the other side of the coin is that those who are great receivers will achieve their full financial potential. The good receivers believe they should be well compensated for the value they provide others, and because of that belief they are well compensated.
It is not uncommon for people to struggle with receiving, and usually it is from believing they are unworthy. The poor may say they are willing to receive, but in actuality they cannot because of the subconscious feelings of unworthiness, and in the end the poor will sabotage themselves from receiving.
Why do so many feel unworthy? It usually comes from early childhood conditioning through parents, other authority figures or specific incidents that occur to help produce that belief system. But God did not choose some to be worthy and some to be unworthy. No, He made everyone worthy to receive. If you think you are unworthy to receive, you will respond to circumstances and to others in a manner that dictates whether you will receive or not receive. It’s a choice of how you think and believe in your heart about yourself. Once you believe you are worthy to receive, you will truly want to be rewarded for the great value you provide others.
The following are two exercises to incorporate into your life that will help you break the habit of not receiving. First, whenever someone gives you a compliment, thank the person without giving a compliment in return. Second, once a month you should do something for yourself that makes you feel deserving and special. And enjoy the practice of receiving!
