What are the laws regarding mopeds in Mississippi?
I am building a simple 2 stroke moped onto the frame of a beach cruiser bicycle, 66cc engine, and it says on the site in most places it’s considered assisted pedaling, but when I tried to look it up nothing showed up. I just want to know if I can ride it like a regular bike, where I please. I am 15, getting my intermediate driver’s license in a month.
i built one of those and if its the 66cc then its classified as a motorcycle so if a cop is really a b***h then he can write you a ticket for riding without a license, no insurance, unregistered vehicle, and so on. i don’t know of any cop that would ever do that but it is possible. i think that pedal assisted law is under 40cc and cant go over 20mph. i have ridden mine past cops but i never rode it out of the neighborhood because was to scared of it breaking down(they do that alot). sure its cheap but i would rather get a real moped/scooter(which i did) and totally customize it(which i did) and go 70mph with 70cc instead of 25mph with 66cc. some states if its under 50cc then you dont need anything besides a car license which its based on the vin# so even if you make it a 70cc you don’t need a motorcycle license, just slow down to 30mph in front of cops
